Echo Timer OZ – Delay & Reverb Time Calculator
Convert project BPM into delay and reverb timings, with straight, dotted and triplet values, tap tempo and sample counts.

Time-StretchCalculate delay timing changes caused by pitching samples up or down without time-stretching.
Varispeed preview only: pitch and speed change together. The timing grid and reverb suggestions use the project BPM, not the shifted tempo.

Reverb Pre-Delay & Decay Recommendations
Tempo-based starting points; adjust pre-delay and decay to your arrangement and mix.
Short decay for rhythm instruments, snares, and modern up-front vocals.
Versatile space for leads, guitars, synth pads, and drum overheads.
Lush depth for orchestral elements, acoustic instruments, and backing vocals.
Huge cinematic washes and ambient soundscape tails.
About Echo Timer OZ – Delay & Reverb Time Calculator
Calculate tempo-synced delay times and reverb starting points from project BPM. Compare straight, dotted and triplet note values in milliseconds, repeat frequency or samples, with tap tempo and a varispeed preview.
Features
- Whole through 64th-note timings with straight, dotted and triplet divisions
- Milliseconds, repetition frequency in Hz and rounded sample counts
- Project tempos from 20 to 300 BPM, with tap tempo and example tempos
- 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz sample-rate choices
- Varispeed preview for integer pitch offsets from −24 to +24 semitones
- Tempo-based reverb pre-delay and decay starting points
- Copy buttons with explicit success or failure feedback
- Optional quarter-note metronome that stops when the page is hidden
How to Use
- Enter your project tempo or tap along with a steady quarter-note beat. T and Space tap while the tool is focused; focused buttons retain native Space activation.
- Choose milliseconds, repetition frequency or samples; select your sample rate when using samples.
- Compare straight, dotted and triplet note divisions, then click a value to copy its formatted text.
- Use the reverb values as starting points and adjust them by ear for the arrangement.
- Set a varispeed offset to preview how coupled pitch and playback-speed changes affect tempo. This preview does not change the timing grid.
- Enable the optional metronome using its audio button; disable it to stop playback.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this process an audio file?
No. It calculates timing values and optionally generates a metronome click. It does not process, stretch or pitch-shift audio.
Are the reverb decay values measurements?
No. They are note-length-based starting points, not measured room decay times or a guarantee of mix clarity.
What does the Hz mode mean?
It shows repetition rate, calculated as 1000 divided by the note duration in milliseconds. It is not the pitch of an audio signal.
Does the pitch offset change the main timing grid?
No. The varispeed panel previews coupled pitch and speed changes. Delay and reverb timings continue to use the project BPM.
Are sample counts exact?
Note durations are converted using the selected sample rate and rounded to the nearest whole sample.
What if copying fails?
The tool reports the failure. Select the displayed value and copy it manually. Clipboard access depends on browser permissions and a secure page.
